Records and papers of Enoch Cousens and F.H. Cousens, businessmen and public officials in Kennebunkport, Me. The main portion of the collection relates to the general store operated by Enoch Cousens. There are also accounts, 1843-1849, of Enoch Cousens as postmaster; accounts, 1853-1888, as deputy collector of customs; accounts and papers, 1862-1893 and earlier, relating to Kennebunkport town affairs. There are papers, 1857-1909, relating to investments of the two men, and records of the Kennebunkport Sea Shore Company and the Ocean Bluff Hotel. Papers of F.H. Cousens include accounts with Portland banks, 1900-1916, and his accounts with Enoch Cousens, 1901-1913. There are also insurance papers of the two men and legal papers relating to inventories, appraisals, and estates.
